Have you ever read the comics? Quick read, and vol 2 is a straight up banger.

This is your regular reminder that a 20% on Rotten Tomatoes means that 20% of reviewers liked the movie. The RT score represents chance that a reviewer liked it, not overall weighted score or how much they enjoyed it.
The article is literally right there. Why are you being weird about this?
In healthcare IT there’s often a person who specializes in just printers. My friend makes a lot of money doing that.
Microblog Memes. It is a Microblog.
3 main reason I cancelled Amazon:
I mean, it’s pretty simple for me in that I won’t pay for a streaming service that has ads. Others might, but I don’t care what others pay for. I left cable for this reason and I’ll leave its next incarnation if that is to be.
Yup, it’s so easy now to buy direct. Same price, same shipping, no counterfeits. One of the things that was really annoying me about Amazon was how often my “new” item was so obviously already opened and returned, often with parts missing. I cancelled and haven’t looked back.
I can hear this sentence. I always loved the cadence Grammer gave to the reading.
I knew my time was up when most of my coworkers hadn’t seen Shawshank Redemption. Watching that was just the cost of being bored in the late 90s.
Yeah, but the longer you have to wait to find someone who gets it the sweeter that moment is. I’ll go a good decade not working with anyone who knows a damn thing about Starship Troopers, but when I do… That’s a good, knee-slapping lunch we’ll have before one of us quits to never be seen again.
I don’t read much fiction, but I quite enjoyed the book Edge of Tomorrow was based on: All You Need Is Kill. The plots only overlap at a very high level, if that, so no worries on having it spoiled for you. It’s fun reading the protagonist’s thought process and I think the book does a far better job at making the aliens scary, the war desperate.
Wow. I had completely forgotten that I used to love Firefox mobile as I had customized everything with those extensions, till they disabled them and I switched.
Same here. I feel Reddit changed for the worse so slowly that I had completely forgotten what the glory days were like until I came to Lemmy. I forgot that there was actual discussion in the comments rather than the same ten lazy comments ad naseum.
I’m kinda surprised Lemmy is losing users since it feels like there is more engagement since I joined earlier this year.
My schools had a zero tolerance policy for anyone involved in a fight for any reason. I saw a few kids suspended for clearly defending themselves. My father gave me regular talks to let me know that so long as the other person attacked first he’d fully support me defending myself however I needed.
It’s a trend recently started by the ancient Greeks.
The mini games can be a part of it. When they work they’re intuitive, quick, and immersive. But sometimes the mini games aren’t well thought out and/or not intuitive. The real problem for me is that I was 40 hours into the game and it’s not only introducing new elements but the tutorials long, uninteresting, and constant. The game just doesn’t have time to breathe.
I would say if you’re on the fence you’ll probably like it. Like I said, there IS an amazing game there. Just go in with lower expectations and you’ll have a good time.
Edit: it’s just frustrating because if the devs put the time spent on all the side elements into the core gameplay, then this game could have been something really special. As is, there are plenty of interesting things to do and cool, emergent moments smothered in a bunch of sub par game design and warioware.
Edit2: I’m definitely venting, too. The game looks incredible and there are also a ton of spoilers that you or others might find to be great moments.
I just finished it and was a bit underwhelmed. There is an amazing game there ruined by a lot of tangents with subpar game design. It was like they were not confident enough in their core gameplay and just kept adding mediocre noise instead of streamlining the main appeal. I just wanted to dive and run a restaurant and the game kept forcing me to do other things. Very frustrating.
Edge is actually really efficient. Over the years I’ve gone back and forth between the browsers as each seems to go through periods of inefficiency.
Exactly! The best thing I ever did was find two similar movies with similar scores, but I hated one and loved the other, then find any critics that agreed with me. Turned out there were only two and one of those ended up being one of the most enriching people I read regularly even today.
The critic is Walter Chaw and the movies were Live Free Or Die Hard and X-men 3. Both stupid action flicks that got similar RT scores, but I hated X-men 3 and loved Die Hard. Instantly fell in love with Walter Chaw when I saw his blurb for X-men 3 was “Michael Bay’s Schindler’s List.” lol
