I think you misspelled ‘backdoors’.

Ajit Pai didn’t have to audition for anything. His employment was already guaranteed. He just had to do his assigned task. You see the same with NASA’s Kathy Lueders and SpaceX. The US is totally blind when it comes to the concept of conflict of interests.
PS: When I typed ‘Ajit Pai’, my phone auto corrected it to ‘Ajit Paid’. I guess even my phone knows!
Thanks! That helps.
It’s not the lack of intelligence. They are targeting the non-Muslim population with brainwashing. This is similar to how the Nazis used to persecute the Jews. Label any of their beliefs and customs as evil. After a while, the other people are overcome by hatred and they simply forget that it’s nonsense.
I didn’t know that. But that’s a good question.
I hate it when I agree with an autocrat.
Muslim nations in the middle east regularly make friends with nations that indulge in human rights abuses against native Muslims. The criteria is money, not religion.
The Philippines just installed a bunch of supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles. Yeah, shit’s indeed about to get real.
Abstaining from alcohol is one of 75 different activities and behaviors identified by the Chinese government as a sign of potential religious extremism. It is listed in brochures distributed in some parts of Xinjiang to educate the public on how to identify extreme religious activities.
What next? Breathing air?
Google would like to apologize for that inadvertent mistake. All efforts are being made to identify how this came to be and to avoid doing the same in the future.
If it’s in our “nature” how is it that the vast majority of us are not doing it?
It’s not in the nature of the majority of individuals, but it’s definitely there in the nature of our species. It’s due to the odd nature of statistics. 100% of us will never be peaceful. There will always be a minority - possibly less than 1% that has bloodlust. Unfortunately, that minority is good at playing with the emotions of the rest (this is the speciality of sociopaths) and leading the entire tribe to needless bloodshed.
This looks like a saturation attack towards the Israeli air defense. The drones and possibly the ballistic missiles are cheaper and more numerous in comparison to the interceptors needed to destroy them. The aim is to exhaust the interceptors. So, the attack cannot be seen as a failure even if they didn’t land.
Another thing to note is that some missiles/drones did manage to make it to the ground. Excluding some interception failures, the others were probably neglected by the air defense system. Israeli air defense is configured to neglect the projectiles that are expected to fall in unpopulated and unimportant areas. That again shows that the effectiveness of the attack cannot be judged from the number of drones/missiles that landed.
And finally, the attack’s effectiveness depends on the loss of lives and property caused on the Israel side. However, releasing reports and footage of such destruction would be demoralizing to the Israelis. So they’re likely to downplay the attack. Meanwhile Iran is likely to exaggerate the same to look menacing and superior. So take the reports from either side with a grain of salt. The truth is likely to be somewhere in the middle.
OK, I misunderstood it. However, this was something that people were warning about for a long time.
I wonder if the codeberg site is vulnerable to such laws. I think they operate from the EU.
These days, paying doesn’t guarantee your exclusion from being the product. The only way to guarantee privacy is to design it into the product.
That’s why you don’t backup on the same provider. You can always backup to the local system with encryption. And they can’t attack the owner in every jurisdiction.
Discord hosted the community, not the code. And that community is now destroyed without even a chance to backup. And Discord can absolutely be blamed because people were warning that this would happen. This is as much a result of Discord’s centralized design as it is of Nintendo’s greed. Now the community has to be reestablished on a new platform from scratch.
Backup and migrate. Choose only platforms that support it. The only weak point there is the DNS registrar.
A forum is perhaps the best support format for a project. Something like discourse. It can be easily migrated in an emergency and it can be searched from a search engine. You also don’t need an account to browse it.
Modern legged robots are great. But they’re no match for crafty humans yet. It will get blown up from all sides. I’m pretty sure that the IDF has much more sinister and lethal weapons.
One weapon I’m particularly worried about is a swarm of mini drones equipped with AI to detect their targets and kill them with shaped charges. The only humans who deserve to be killed by it are the ones who were evil enough to invent it in the first place.
