The absolute panic when you put the keys in the ignition and the seat starts moving forward. You try to move it back before your knee slam into the dash, but the controls arent exactly where you thought

Because the show writers are the same that wrote the game, last of us has a very strong advantage. They can’t deviate from the plot and key elements because they are too invested in it. But they can change what they feel like is weaker, or wouldn’t work as well in a show format. And its really noticable if you played both the game and the show. They’ve discussed how they already planned it to be a two season series, but they also mentioned if they have enough inspiration and they can figure out a way to make a third season that stays within the spirit of the story line, and they honestly enjoy it then they will.
With the first season being as good as it was, I have complete and utter faith in them.
People are crazy for bucees. It’s a road trip staple. It wouldn’t surprise me if the idea behind this is to get people to reroute their road trips next time just to stop at bucees.
Yeah, I’ve long since stopped using Google. Theres not any search engines I’ve found that mimic Google in its height, but many of them are better than what Google is now. Even bing.
If you read it, the mod certainly didn’t beg. They just mentioned that they’re still blocking bots and to not be discouraged from posting original content.
Also I find it highly doubtful that the mods of that subreddit are concerned about shareholders. Why would a mod care about money when they’re not even getting paid? They most likely just care about keeping the community alive.
Not to take away the point. Which I think is something most Lemmy users have realized ages ago, reddit is so full of repost bots that it makes gallowboob look like a saint. So much in fact that after two days, not a single original post has occurred in a subreddit with a reported 17 million followers.
North America*. Besides that, people often group Canadians and Americans together quite often. The two countries are very similar culturally. I have seen it become more and more common to say North Americans when talking about things culturally. When it comes to politics or the specific country itself, of course it makes sense to separate them.
We already have one! They did an event about 3-4 months ago. https://toast.ooo/c/canvas
I think the biggest thing that draws me to this community is surrealism. If it’s not surreal and it’s just a meme, it probably shouldn’t be allowed.
Of course I enjoy the occasional meme, but Ive seen a few in here that feel like they just missed the mark of being surreal.
But that’s just my two cents. I still love this community regardless.
Base YouTube is a cancer experience. I used vanced back when it existed. The second they shut down, I stopped using mobile YouTube and just used it on Firefox PC with ad block. When I heard reVanced was a thing, I downloaded it and it’s essentially just like vanced.
I will never use YouTube without adblock unless they either change their monetization system, or ad system.
Hello neighbor might be good. I enjoyed the first one, the rest not so much. But I imagine a young kid would love it.
I want to make it entirely clear that I agree with you. I just want to bring this up for insight and perhaps understanding.
Reddit has a pretty bad incel problem. Incels are very similar to online Nazis. Out in the open they try to speak in code and find other incels, and in their own communities they get nasty and start being vile. Now this isn’t always the case, and incels are much more brazen than nazis, but the premise is similar.
Once is want to find other incels. And they do so by using dog whistles. One of which is ‘females’. Of course this is a common word and its ridiculous to just ban anyone using this word. This mod went way overboard. But if you’ve been around enough of these ‘quiet’ toxic groups and had to mod, you might have acted rash as well.
I wouldnt mind the first kind if they didnt have a playbook to defute every single one of your points in a manipulative way. I really don’t give a shit what you support as long as it doesn’t directly involve hate or oppression, and as long as you don’t try to shove it down others throats or try to insult people with opposing views every chance you get.
I imagine a lot of people over im hexbear are chill. I hope so at least. However, every encounter ive had with them, feels like the conservatives over on reddit. They try to ‘own’ you with loaded talking points, and bad faith arguements.
Oppressive nations tend to have powerful armies.
Nobody is defuting that the USSR fought off the Nazis and had the biggest hand in their destruction.
But just because they fought a great evil, doesnt mean they were " the good guys". It just means they fought a great evil.
Its called genralization. Whenever a media reaches a larger audience, that media stops filling its niche and starts trying to appeal to the larger audience. Its a bit more complicated when it comes to a social media, but look at some of the larger subreddits. When they were small and starting off, they were fun and exciting. But after growing a larger audience, they became more genralized. A bit boring.
Users are the same way. After a platform gains enough users, those users start to act in a way that is similar to picking the low hanging fruit. Whatever is the easiest way to garner attention, they do it.
If lemmy grows to reddits size, it’ll probably be the same. However, hopefully different instances and nonsummarized karma will mitigate that.
If it was her decision that her full face should be on display, the backlash should be evidence enough that someone else gets paid to make those decisions, not her.
The original looks boring. She has absolutely no emotions on her face. There’s no mystique, no ‘wickedness’. Even the composition looks like something a high schooler in Photoshop class would make.
The edit isn’t perfect either. But at least it pays homage to the original in more than just image. It adds that mystique back, and makes her look more menacing.
What it truly boils down to is ego. Although the edit is better, and so many people agree on it, it doesn’t show her full face. And she can’t let that go.
