Had a busy weekend, my brother was in town with his family so spent the last 48 hours with them. Love them, but they are pretty exhausting lol. This week at work is looking to be pretty chill, so all in all, not bad. Hope everyone has a fantastic week ahead!

I agree with this entirely, but I think the missing context is the mental health of our admins. Not to mention the sheer number of hours of unpaid labor they do, they are subjected to some heinous things. I don’t want them to sacrifice themselves for us. I will follow beehaw if they leave, I already have another lemmy account to see a wider scope of the fediverse, but beehaw is too special to abandon.

Lol. California is huge and incredibly diverse. I live in San Diego. I can walk to 4 different grocery stores in less than half a mile. Additionally, I have a weekly farmers market down the street I can visit. Not to mention the Ethiopian market and Mexican market that are an additional couple blocks away. Wherever you were in California only represents that specific area, and not the state in total by any means. I’m sure the area you visited has plenty to be desired as far as walkabaility, but I’m sure it’s an issue divided along rural vs urban lines, not a state by state thing. Please don’t contribute to misinformation. Making a sweeping generalization about a huge and incredibly populous state only adds fuel to the misinformation fire.

How on earth are people not totally repulsed by Altman? Capitalist to the core. Gross to see all his employees drank the kool aid too. I work in tech, but non-profit side, so I sometimes forget just how driven by money the tech sector is. Altman is a fucking bond villain at this point.

Good on you! We have a defacto meat person too. My sister-in-law’s dad (so I guess married in father-in-law?) likes to take on the meat, though in our case he insists lol.
