The patterns of behavior between shareholders, boards of directors, and executives is what’s killing people. The same role can be re-cast with different actors.

It’s not that CEOs need to die, it’s that that larger pattern of behavior that gets rich by killing people needs to end. Maybe this spooks other people who are part of that larger pattern into stopping, maybe it makes them do it more, stealthier, and with bodyguards. It’s hard to say.

At the very least, we should all jump at every chance to help things without hurting anybody, wherever we do find it. “Necessary violence” comes with a big ol heap of plausible deniability, and it’s a pretty big ask for somebody to handle it responsibly.

The justification will be alluring even in circumstances where it is not legitimate.

It’s not even selfish. It bites the people who fight for it in a thousand different ways.

It’s just silly. If they were any good at being selfish, they’d want people to have healthcare, because everybody else’s shit makes your world better or worse regardless of your money or whether you acknowledge it.

People would, in general, really love to pay a reasonable subscription to youtube that gets fairly distributed to the video creators they watch the most.

So if there’s ever a way to do that, they’ll probably use it.

The internet has been mostly enshittified. The corporations are guaranteed to continue sucking in predictable ways. It’ll never get better or good enough.

The fediverse is something new. It is, at the very least, immune to being reddited and twittered. If the internet has a future, it’s on the fediverse, or on something like it that doesn’t exist yet. Going back to shitty corporate stuff just delays the future.
