  • a creative actually had a really good idea they pitched to the executives

They is delusional. Do they think Disney is some indie company and not a corporate machine?

Everything they do is for profit, not giving fans what they want. It just so happens that the two sometimes line up and we get a good movie out of it.

For years, Disney’s intent was to saturate the market with Marvel. They didn’t want a single month to go by without SOME Marvel movie or TV show. Them not thinking fans would get fatigued like they did is evidence enough that fans were never their priority.

  • I wish I could say the same but I can’t bring myself to cut my dad out of my life. Yesterday ended our 2 year streak of talking every day.

He learned years ago not to bring up politics with me because he knows I will destroy all of his arguments and bring receipts. He’s let a comment or two slip at a family gathering but he knows my phone’s coming out of I’m within earshot… No, dad, he was definitely friends with Epstein - here’s a quote saying so from the 90s.

I’ve thought a lot about bringing it up or at the very least what my response would be if he does. I want to tell him that he has 20 years left at best but I have to live in the world he voted for a lot longer. I want to tell him that I think my sister would be right to never speak to him again. I want to tell him that she may be young, but in 15 years my niece is going to rightfully resent him for what he supported.

But what I think I’m going to actually tell him is that he fucked up so bad that I HAVE to assume he truly does not understand the implications of this if I ever want to be able to look him in the eye again.

And every single time Trump does something shitty as president, I will be texting him what it was and why it’s bad whether he likes it or not.

  • I voted for her but this is such a dumb, reductive take

The problem with her messaging was that none of it was actually catered to the working class. Racists weren’t voting dem anyway yet they still tried to appeal to the right.

I blame the people who didn’t vote for electing Trump but I also get it. Harris was more of the same in a time we need actual change.

She would have won if the past 8 years hadn’t made people so fuckin apathetic but instead of riling people up with policy promises, the campaign focused on how bad a second Trump presidency would be…that might have taken away votes for him but it sure as hell didn’t motivate people to vote FOR her.

One of the best things I can say about the campaign is that I appreciated the lack of the Girl Power messaging that was so prevalent with Hilary Clinton. It’s a selling point to very few people since women tend to care more about the POLICY after so many Republican policies have targeted them

  • I didn’t say there was no use, I said there was very little benefit.

Your only reasoning for saying it will be something people wouldn’t be able to live without is that it will save you time when you forget to bookmark something you want to find 6 months ago. I don’t find that compelling at all and I can’t fathom it being a “must have” feature for 99.99% of people.

To your edit, it is unquestionably a trade off. You are being monitored by Microsoft. Screenshots of your computer will be uploaded to their servers regularly. It doesn’t matter what happens with them - that information is now out there. Even if it was impossible to hack Microsoft (lol), there is no way to spin this to say you aren’t giving up privacy. Until this is feature is completely offline with no telemetry going to a corporation, it is a privacy nightmare.

Windows 11 is free and as the saying goes, “if you’re not paying for it, YOU are the product.” So yes, most people think this is bad no matter what.

FWIW I did not downvote either of your comments
