Lower decks is awesome. I went in expecting it to suck, but its not only very funny, its also clever and engaging and faithful to star trek. I was super impressed and now i kinda wanna rewatch it again.

Maybe try a Bluetooth fm transmitter? I have one because my car is too old for bluetooth and also doesnt have aux, but its great and snappy and i just have to reach down to the cigarette lighter to switch songs.

Have you not heard of a router? Sure i have an internet connection but i wouldnt have to. Lots of people have subnetworks that are isolated from outside network access, and my router would still be able to stream from my computer to my laptop even if my internet was down or i unplugged the modem. The last time they did scheduled maintenance on my internet thats exactly what i did, i streamed things that i had previously downloaded and saved on a different computer.

It’s a great way to get through a crowded bar or concert, but I’ve amended the technique a little. I stretch my arm out and use it to telegraph where I’m headed, pushing my arm ahead of me through the gaps between people, and they tend to kinda naturally make a space with no contact necessary. I’ll only put my hand on someone’s shoulder if they’re totally oblivious or I’d otherwise walk into them, and even then you have to be subtle about the right pressure and length of touching or I could see people getting mad, but I’ve never had someone be upset with a very brief light tap and I’ve used this technique successfully to move myself and my girlfriend (we hold hands and I almost pull her along with me lol) through some tight crowds without ever ruffling any feathers.

You can also do this with dots in various places in your email with gmail. Not as descriptive as the plus sign thing but still can be useful as you can create different filters based on the location of the dots.

This would be amazing, I would love a more powerful deck. If a steamdeck 2 comes out I’m buying that day 1, but until then steamOS is way too good to go to windows. Windows is awful on a PC, I can’t imagine how bad and annoying it must be on a handheld.

Steam deck. Not as cheap as an ambernic or raspberry pi, but I’ve been blown away by how painless and plug and play everything is, and I’ve played games on it from every console generation up to ps3 so far, plus modern pc games. Steaminput makes controller settings a breeze even for games or applications that don’t have good input settings. I knew I’d like it before I got one last year, but since then I can’t say enough good things about it, it’s honestly everything I dreamed of as a kid playing video games, almost every game under the sun all in one handheld package, it’s honestly incredible.

Or they just made an announcement in 2021 about their existing content management tools and how much they’ve spent on them over the years. That’s how I read it anyway.

You’re just saying a bunch of things that don’t actually mean anything now. I don’t even know what you’re trying to say with the financial stuff, but with the games stuff, how is there utility in trading a skin outside a game when you can only use it in that game anyway? Besides companies would have to adopt that tech. How is having a public ledger proving you own a skin in BigShinyGame worthwhile if in order to use that skin you have to log into your account on BigShinyGames servers and use their matchmaking service. If you’re relying on a company to host a multiplayer game for you anyway, why not keep relying on them to host your items? If the game goes away so does all the value of your stuff.

The data wouldn’t be stored “on the blockchain”, that would be incredibly inefficient. Even with NFTs which were mostly only JPEGs, the blockchain only stored a hyperlink to the file on a server somewhere. You couldn’t keep a 2GB movie file on a blockchain. So it really doesn’t solve any problems, as you’re still relying on a server somewhere to host your media for you. How exactly does that benefit anyone?

If I have a movie downloaded on my computer I own it, I don’t need a link on a decentralized ledger to prove it to anyone lmao. The movie itself (or the music) isn’t even “on the blockchain”. It’s clear you don’t understand the technology.

The switch has like two really good exclusives, and the rest are meh. Ps5 has a few good exclusives, but even Sony has started to realize that it’s more profitable to release their games on PC as well. Meanwhile PC/cross-platform games have a ridiculous amount of amazing competing titles. For every exclusive that I wished I had a console to play, there’s ten or twenty other games that I’d rather play on PC instead. Console exclusives should and likely will die fairly soon, especially now that consoles are basically just PCs, and with handheld like the steam deck making switch irrelevant.

What are you talking about? The pc is basically one big box that thousands of game makers only release their games on, but there’s plenty of competition in the indie game scene and the steam marketplace. If anything, it’s taken power away from large publishers because a lot of people would rather pay $30 for a passion filled well thought out game than $80 for the latest unoptimized garbage heap. Game makers would still have to compete if there were no console exclusives. In fact they’d have to compete more, because instead of only being able to afford one console and being stuck with whatever games are on it, people would have the option of whatever games they wanted.

I mean YMMV based on location, but I’m in a semi major city in canada and I ordered some stuff off Prime on Monday evening and it was here by yesterday afternoon. I’ve had non prime stuff come quickly too but not that quickly and the longest I think I’ve waited for something prime was 3 days.
