That was how I felt about Blair Witch. Full disclosure, I don’t like horror to begin with, but to me the movie was about a group of people in the woods with a scary thing somewhere, and when they finally find the thing it ends.
It’s like if Texas Chainsaw was about a bunch of teenagers who stood around while you hear a chainsaw running somewhere in the distance, the cuts to black right when the killer shows up.
I couldn’t watch it, not because it wasn’t good but because I was constantly getting unbelievably depressed about how accurately it mirrors the world today. Every scene had me thinking “this would be funny if it wasn’t exactly how it would actually pan out.” I think it might be hilarious a few decades after this all blows over but right now it hits way too close to home.
I like vampires in the Pratchett universe, who often see human hunting as a sport and leave religious symbols, stakes, and garlic around the castle to level the playing field. (Not to mention the black ribbon society, the vampire equivalent to AA.)
They couldn’t turn the world today into a movie because the writing would be called too lazy and ham-fisted to be realistic.

That’s the crux of it. Republicans almost invariably see life as a zero-sum game. It honestly does not occur to them that everyone could be happy and prosperous.
Being hot gets you far. Having obscene amounts of daddy’s money gets you much farther.
I forget the details, but the long and short of it was that they were advocating for anyone found sending these prompts to an AI being put on an FBI watch list, along with something along the lines of “you’d want to know if your neighbor was doing this.” Then came at least three edits about how they didn’t care about downvotes.

See, imo this is the exact kind of thinking that makes pedophilia dangerous. Most people would agree that being attracted to children is a mental illness. Most people would agree that mental illnesses should be treated by a knowledgeable professional. But pedophilia is so stigmatized that someone even admitting they have a problem, one I very much doubt most of them want to have, has people calling for them to be drawn and quartered, regardless of if they’ve ever actually hurt anyone.
Do I like that there’s art and writing of people having fantasies about children? No, of course not. But making it impossible for people to have a safe outlet, to even talk about it with a medical professional for fear of imprisonment, death threats, or worse, makes it so these people can’t even get the help they need. It’s like teaching abstinence only sex ed. You’re trying to get people to stop having fantasies by burying them, but it only exacerbates the issue.

You can use semicolons when listing things instead of commas, but that’s usually only for clarity when listing things with commas in them (e.g. “Last summer I visited Las Vegas, Nevada; Tucson, Arizona; Seattle, Washington; and Sacramento, California.”)
It’s crazy how ubiquitous those were. Anyone with a mic for their PC had that exact mic.
Hell, I’m a millennial and I had a professor at college maybe five years ago who used an overhead because he refused to figure out how to use PowerPoint with the computer projector.
My personal favorite was him responding to a fact check with “I saw it on TV.”

FC6 too. In the beginning you’re only helping the resistance so they’ll give you a boat to escape to Miami. Once they give you the boat you’re supposed to join them anyway, but if you take the boat and sail far enough away you’ll get a cutscene where you escape to Miami and later watch the fall of your country on the news.
Sounds like it’s time for Vetinari to have a word with them.
