That description of your process reminds me of this video on consciousness, and how the creator describes how he has no inner monolog, or even conscious thought of some of his actions, and instead it’s like a black box that he can query. Is your experience similar to that?

But there’s been a good deal of programmers who have said that BASIC, and its ease of use and seeing almost instant results is extremely useful to not turn people off learning to code to begin with. Python is functionally the new BASIC in that regard, and while the language itself may not teach you to become an expert programmer, it may have gotten more people in the door than otherwise would have.

Fahrenheit 451 is certainly worth a read. I read it late in life, and could see immediately why it’s so often read in schools. Very well written, and a compelling story.

Another book that you may find quite personally compelling is The Chrysalids by John Wyndham (Archive.org has a free audio book version), due to the themes it covers.

Those are pretty terrible options to surpress, since once they are made subsonic to avoid the supersonic crack, they have little energy to actually inflict wounds due to how light the bullets are (still deadly, just very underpowered). He would’ve been better off with a 9mm or a 45, but both would’ve been a little harder to conceal.

A British gun nut wrote to Fleming about how terrible the .25acp is ballistically, which is why Fleming later made bond use a Walther PPK in a .32acp. The gun nut also inspired him to create Q.

A big enough surpressor combined with a subsonic bullet actually can make a gun movie-like whisper quiet, and even can be ultra quiet on a pistol.

But most of the ones used in movies are small enough, or used on a semiautomatic, to where they would be louder than portrayed.

The information I’ve seen regarding deep discharge life-cycle for sodium ion is that the latest tech is actually extremely good, at least according to this. I don’t see how the lower voltage is a problem, since for grid situations you’ll have step-up transformers anyway, and the batteries can just be hooked up in series to increase the voltage.

They use abundant materials, will be much cheaper than lithium ion, don’t need to be actively cooled, and massively lessen the risk of rupture and fires.

The low density per unit of weight isn’t relevant for grid storage, so they seem pretty ideal.

Sodium batteries require very little rare earths in comparison to lithium batteries.

Sodium electric batteries, like the type that CATL developed? Or do you mean hot molten salt thermal batteries? Because I think the other poster is referring to the first kind.

I’ve never installed it myself, I’ve only used it on the instances that offer it, such as my home instance at slrpnk.net.

The linearity was a bonus for me, but it was sorta openish, at least in the sense you could visit Lucas burtone on the way to/from missions to get little side quests to steal new faster cars.

After the last two games and the remake, I’m not hopeful. The new devs never got what made the original special, despite its flaws.

Ah, that’s unfortunate. As an alternative, I have seen some online games name their bots with a random name generator that’s designed to sound somewhat real, like AnnoyingPidgen or WrecklessRaptor. If the voting account naming system was more like that, it would be easier to notice voting patterns/manipulation while still being anonymous.
