  • Yes, US imperialism is responsible for much of what is going on in the middle east. I’m not going to pretend to know enough about those conflicts to answer your question, but I’m not exactly sure how it’s relevant. But as a general rule, yeah the US should fuck off and stop interfering in other countries. It never helps and it’s never truly motivated by selfless goals. America does not support Israel because Israel is “good”, they support Israel because it’s their proxy base in the middle east. Hence why not even Democrats give a fuck that their “closest ally” is murdering children daily.

The US should absolutely stop funding Israel and Israel should immediately withdraw from the Gaza, the West Bank, and its illegal settlements. Not sure what you expected me to say.

  • This is pure fantasy. Cable did not have everything in one place for cheaper. Unless you paid extra you only had the default channels where you had to watch everything at a specific time or pay extra for a PVR to record and even then you didn’t have access to entire backlogs of TV shows. If you wanted to watch front to back a show you had to pay $100+ for the box set.

Also ADs ADs ADs ADs ADs ADs.

Yeah streaming is getting worse and worse but if you told me I had to choose between cable and a single streaming service I’d pick the streaming service every time.

  • AFAIK no, audiophiles can be very opinionated though. Definitely do your own research cause I’m a noob.

Vinyls are analog, which means they (more or less) directly convert imprint the waveforms of the recording onto the physical vinyl. In theory, this should create the best quality recording, but in practice physics gets in the way and it will not sound exactly the same. Digital on the other hand converts the analog waves into digital ones and zeros and most digital music is heavily compressed meaning it uses maths to approximate the original recording. However, lossless digital formats (FLAC) exist which theoretically lose no information from the original recording.

I’m not sure it’s possible to compare digital/analog quality but I would guess that you would get better sound quality from a vinyl than say Spotify, but better quality from a lossless file than vinyl.

In my non-expert experience, by the time you get to lossless/vinyl quality you are far more restricted by your audio equipment than by the format, and only experts would be able to tell a difference in quality.

  • Cars going over the speed limit is literally just accepted as fine by 90% of drivers but god forbid a cyclists goes through a stop sign at 20km/h looking both ways constantly to make sure it’s safe.

I see cars roll through stop signs at 30km/h weekly.

I encounter cars going twice the speed limit on one of the few designated bike routes in my city multiple times a week. I’ve almost been hit by these cars multiple times.

I’ve seen cars go through red lights at full speed 3 times in the past two years.

People are insanely reluctant to the idea that people bikes should maybe not have to follow rules that were written for vehicles that impair your vision and hearing, regularly kill and maim, and require a license and insurance.
