Oh I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. My instance actually disables downvotes, so I can’t see that, but there are a lot of reddit transplants here (I’m one of them), and reddit’s takes on things like feminism and women are overall not … good.

It never went away in the first place
Yes, last I checked, one of their prime hate forums r/KotakuInAction was still active, and still filled with the most pathetic little insects seething about the fact that women and minorities exist in media. Gamergate has never really ended. Most people just stopped paying attention to these fools.
Unfortunately, that’s easy for me to say, since I’m not on the receiving end of their doxxing and death threats.
I haven’t had the best life, but I just can’t fathom being such a total loser that I’d ever get that worked up over something like video games.
There’s a sort of twisted reason, though. Fascists need a manufactured enemy to whom they can attribute blame for society’s ills – in this case, the myth of a “border crisis.” It’s sadly effective too, and somewhere around 70% of right-wingers in the US believe it, many of whom are so ignorant they don’t realize they’re complicit in bolstering fascism.

Oh thank god that’s all it is /s
Oh don’t worry, we’ve got a lot of them here as well. I know a lot of good people too, but everyone is stretched so thin with work and trying to survive.
Yeah I’m pretty involved locally, although action is pretty limited here where I live in South Dakota
My husband and I bought ours in 2019, and I feel like we did so in the nick of time, and that’s with being on two programs and taking an additional loan for the down payment, and that’s because paying the mortgage was lower than renting an apartment at the time.
People can’t afford housing anymore. I feel guilty even owning a house because it’s gotten so bad (even though the bank technically owns this shit).
I’m in the upper crust of an exploitative capitalist nation that relies on slavery, human trafficking, and genocide for the illusion of equity. Claiming that capitalist nations are saving the world is absolutely unhinged. We’re actually destroying the entire planet while we dance on the backs of many marginalized groups.
I’m actually anarchist, but I’m just saying socialist nations at least seek equity, unlike really egregiously awful countries like Canada and the US. I could name some nations that are better than this, but I suspect you’re not going to respond in good faith and/or will merely parroting McCarthyist brainrot.
It seems far more possible to have a good socialist country than it does a capitalist one
At least it ostensibly seeks equity, whereas capitalism is inherently inequitable, and no amount of regulation can ever change that
We’re so immersed in capitalism that we subscribe to the illusion that it’s a good system, similar to how people centuries ago would have perceived the divine right of kings
I did, thanks! I just eat tacos and stuff when I need my comfort food fix
I learned this hack shortly before being diagnosed with celiac and lactose intolerance haha, after a lifetime of eating cold slices
I can confirm it works well, though
I wouldn’t really miss it all that much. I’ve always treated YouTube as a fun novelty where I can watch people’s homemade videos, but it’s almost all polished commercial grade content now, with some exceptions.
Those software and settings that make it tolerable, such as Tubular and using uBO/Sponsorblock/Firefox, are extremely easy to find and use. But I wouldn’t miss it all that much if it became unusable.
This is the one I’ve been using for a long time, and it’s worked well for me
No, that’s because of the crushing weight of the charting and these places being chronically understaffed due to corporate greed. I worked as a CNA in a hospital, and we were doing our best to help everyone every second of our shift. It probably seemed like we were just disappearing because we never knew when we went into a room if we’d encounter a few seconds of questions, or if it would be an hour of assistance due to an emergency.
But I’ve also worked overnight at a nursing home, and there was definitely some downtime there, including for nurses.
Yeah, not sure why I qualified my statement with “anymore.” Printers have always sucked donkey ass!
One of my favorite places to be tbh
Agreed. There’s no such thing as a good printer anymore. Fuck them.
On the bright side, printers sucking so badly has led me to take extreme measures to avoid having to print much of anything, and on the rare occasion we need something printed, I just go to the library and do it there.
“At last, a profit incentive!”
