Yes it think it is.
I have a nextdns set up. And I see dark reader phoning home regularly.

I use firefox nightly. I don’t mind the telemetry going to firefox. I know it’s a bad thing… But still, if it helps them it’s fine.
But performance wise, it’s not bad. It’s good enough. And with extension support rolling out soon, firefox might be really good.
God this is the answer I wanted. I could never put it all into words like you did. This answer, I’m stealing it.
Did you check whether the new IP assigned are any different. Once it happened that my old ISP had ip range 192.168.0.x. but the new ISP had ip range of 192.168.1.x
This made my machine not accessible.
The average user :
Ooh golly… what will I ever do… Continues using Facebook
Yeah. I don’t think you can. But I really like this feature from Google search. I currently run my own instance of Whoogle. Neither does whoogle have a good way to show these widgets
I use a self hosted instance of Whoogle. It threw up an error a few days back. Got stuck in Google captcha(probably an IP issue). Now it has reset and it is smooth sailing.
Yeah, it is simply Google results, but I think it’s fine…
Honestly what is wrong with ‘just works’. If the policies behind the project and the security and privacy is all in place using this option is nothing wrong.
For linux to grow it needs to be more ‘just works’. Let the complex stuff and simple stuff be there. It’s not one or the other.
Yes I leave it on. And that’s by choice.
Yeah it’s a privacy issue. But I want firefox to get better. And data to the devs is what helps.
Windows 12 dev employee: what if … what if… We break the taskbar into bits.
Wait wait wait… I think we can uh… maybe just maybe not add bloat… Turns around to see the employer… Gulp
Turns back to screen… Adding bloat is always the answer… Right boss?
I think it’s best to be in between. Use the stuff in such a way that it doesn’t break.
Don’t be too damn into it, that you can’t use anything. But also don’t just not care about anything and go on…
Hey the door of one is open. Common guys. We can’t let that be.
Yeah. But it’s too damn risky to buy the non-popular ones. Especially in my region…
You are not alone my friend.
Obviously, there’s a way for anyone to have freedom in chats, then that’s gotta go.
I would never say no to using older hardware. Yeah, it’ll be like punishing yourself. But you learn a shit ton.
I recently started self hosting. I started on a PC with the same specs as you’ve said. Booting was an issue. And tons of stuff always broke. But i learnt a lot. And then there was a time, when i genuinely thought i could do better and switched an old laptop with decent specs.
Pi’s are very expensive and too dang low on supply.
So always make do with what you have. If it’s your first home lab, then yeah go ahead. In a few months switch
Im gonna give simple keyboard a week. If it works well, I might keep it.
Cause we own the roads and the platforms.
Whatdya mean you wanna walk
Vaultwarden. And take regular back ups. I don’t trust my passwords to be safe anywhere other than my own servers. The chances of my server being hacked is very less.
