  • I disagree. I dont disagree this is true but i dont think its the main reason for poor leadership. I think that has more to do with greed and power politics. Incredibly powerful people and groups (billionaires, superpacs, other politicians) largely choose who gets put in significant leadership positions. They’ll put in people who will “play the game” and made token appeals to the masses but largely work towards the interests of themselves and their donors/people pulling the strings.

Its not that theyre afraid to make unpopular decisions as much as they dont really care, because people who do care seldom get into those positions

  • I live in a small town in Vermont, my girlfriend grew up here but moved away to New York City and has recently returned. She hates Christmas and I love it. Ive been trying to get her into the Christmas spirit. We were picking a Christmas tree when i realized we’re literally following the plot of these stupid movies and i now i keep mentioning how i need her big city business skills to help save my Christmas themed bakery

  • Its conflicting even in the sources. There’s at least two lines that directly say “everyone who dies in battle goes to Valhal” However the sagas and Eddas are full of people dying in battle who are said to go to Hel. Similarly we have many people who do not die in battle who seem to believe they will be going to Odinn’s hall. (academic speculation warning) most of the people who die outside of battle but still intend to go to valhal deem to be specifically Odinn worshippers. Perhaps there’s a link there to the odinnic cult.

Seriously. I work with tradespeople everyday. Society would collapse in a week without them. But also most of them believe in jewish space lasers and want trump to become god king and kick out all the gays and non-whites

Then they complain NO ONE WANTS TO WORK ANYMORE when they cant find anyone who wants to work with them

  • Even those require individuals to do something though. Since the government and basically every corporation is entirely opposed to this. You still have to march and protest and call your representatives and fight for it. There’s no reality where this ever changes with no one doing anything beyond an occasional Facebook post. However, even if suddenly our politicians and billionaires all had a change of heart, the necessary changes to effectively combat this environmental catastrophy would mean a complete upheaval of our lives. Cars and animal products either cease to be made or are so expensive barely anyone can afford them. We’ll be using public transportation and bikes and eating mostly vegan diets and bringing our reusable bags to our zero waste grocery stores. Itd force people to do all the things that various groups are already trying to get everyone to do (and to be clear im not sitting on my high horse claiming i already do all that, because i dont) There’s no way through this where we solve the problem and it doesnt require all of us to change our own habits

  • Exactly. Corporations ABSOLUTELY are a problem we NEED to fight. But its also not an excuse to pretend we’re all completely blameless. People get furious when you tell them we cant sit around and wait for climate change to magically fix itself or billionaires to magically become good and stop. But that WE are going to have to actually make changes and put our money where our mouths are

  • Early farming would have been communally owned land. But hunter gatherer life was not remotely as relaxed as dudes on yhe Internet would make it seem

I mean an-prim is like the dumbest ideology ever unless you actually think 50+% infant mortality and everyone who needs glasses being unable to survive is cool.
