For sure. I just dragged and dropped the jpg into 3d Builder. That program is rudimentary but if it is a simple drawing it does a great job creating a model.

It ended up being solid just because of the standard wall thicknesses, but PLA prints are quite strong from a compressive standpoint. That said, I am sure I am not applying the entire 6 tons. I have done similar experiments with a bench vice with similar results too, it’s just a little harder to line everything up give the jaw depth.
Here’s a picture of the stamp.
It’s just a 3mm thickness disc with the picture on the top at 2mm. I use a 6 ton shop press to compress it with a 1" steel plate used to distribute the force. The print is a no name brand black PLA printed at 0.2 at the fast setting on an AnkerMake M5. You can also see the residual ink, the stamping only takes a small amount. I did a few at one time without having to reapply.
One of my favorite character and was the inspiration for the stamp for sure.
I make some small things for gifts and being able to make a custom stamp for a few uses is a cool concept.
I went over the stamp with blue sharpie and wet the leather with water and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol. When you compress the stamp into the leather with a press the alcohol reactivates the ink in the recesses.
This was my first attempt with a 3d printed stamp. Worked great!
I will second Nethack. The depth of that game for it’s size is astounding.
I would say Robin Hobb. She writes easy to read, character driven fantasy novels that gracefully deal with a gamut of difficult topics (e.g., orphanism, otherness, sexual violence, mortality, etc.). The books really helped me build empathy for people and concepts that were far afield of my own experience.
I used a coiled cable and put my audio interface to my side higher up on a shelf. That way when I am seated the headphone cable barely touched the ground.
That’s true but the difference is exceedingly small.
According to 1 FDA study, the mean difference for AUC values between test and reference products was found to be 3.5% in the 2-year period following the Waxman-Hatch Act, and 80% of the absolute differences between generic products approved since 1984 and the corresponding innovator products were within a 5% range.
Debunking a Common Pharmacy Myth: The 80-125% Bioequivalence Rule Jun 8, 2016
Yes, without a warrant. It’s in the Privacy Notice in any retail pharmacy.
Impersonating a cop is a pretty big step that’s illegal in its own right but we did have moms trying to see if their adult daughter was on birth control, but that’s pretty easy to stop. Just lock their profile and ask the patient to make up a passcode or only deal with them in person.
Yeah, I didn’t say any of that but ok. HIPAA/employers actually require you to give law enforcement information in a variety of situations, including specifically the situation I mentioned:
To report PHI that the covered entity in good faith believes to be evidence of a crime that occurred on the covered entity’s premises (45 CFR 164.512(f)(5)).
HHS - When does the Privacy Rule allow covered entities to disclose information to law enforcement
I worked at a pharmacy and the only time it actually happened was when a patient tried to sell their Vicodin to an undercover cop outside the store. The cop came in and asked for the information about the prescription and we gave it to him.
Allah loves wondrous variety!
The painted man! He haunts my dreams.
Oh, I agree. I use a different printer now too for most things but I still have the original one. The technology has really advanced in the intervening years.
Ender 3 3d printer about 6 years ago. I bought it used for $100 on a whim with no knowledge on how to use one. Now it’s the most useful tool in my house. Need a slightly bigger hollow wall anchor? You can print one. Custom desk organizer? Print one. Name plates for a dinner party. Stamp to impress into wax or leather. Fantasy scatter terrain.
There is certainly a learning curve but if you can get proficient you can make countless helpful things that would would not be able to buy.
If you’re down for a retro RPG via an emulator, Earthbound. The overarching story is about dealing with traumatic events as a child and coming of age while hitting the endearing but quirky note similar to games like Undertale that was a cult classic on the SNES. It came boxed with a full color, complete strategy guide made to look like a travel guide so it’s intended not to be too difficult and really experience the story.
