With Uber, they started with ride sharing and slowly nudged its way towards being a car-for-hire business. The reason it worked was because no one really liked taxis and didn’t want to defend that monopoly.

Today, cities are trying to regulate places like Airbnb to reduce their presence in major cities, but the only real hate towards Uber and Lyft has more to deal with employee pay.

Or you had several companies try to start their own streaming services from scratch and thought you needed a ton of new shows to fill it. Disney+ could have easily gotten away with archived Disney Channel shows, all the animated Disney cartoons, the old Star Wars & Marvel movies, and the Simpsons. It didn’t need a lot of the new shows, no matter how cool they looked.

If graphics were with it, people would pay for it.

The fact of the matter is that exponential graphics capabilities requires an exponential input of developer and asset creator budget. Given that there is a ceiling on game prices, it isn’t worth it going for higher fidelity games when the market isn’t going to pay for it.

For a lot of societies, care of the elderly is supposed to be performed by the children. A marriage has the implication that care isn’t just for their own parents, but the in-laws as well. I expect a divorce like this servers that familial connection, people no longer have to care for their in-laws.

In terms of expenses, the largest expense is in having staff to run the various websites and foundation. Charity auditors rank the foundation highly on expenses, so the foundation is likely not overpaying staff.

Wikipedia needs donations to survive, but it isn’t struggling. If you feel like you have better things to donate to, it is probably ok for now.

There has been a big push to reintroduce humanity into the border policy, but I don’t know if there is a big push to allow for more undocumented immigration in the USA.

The DREAM Act is about addressing the existing population within the USA. Getting rid of having kids in cages doesn’t exactly mean letting those kids in the country, but processing them quickly and humanely while under Federal custody; that processing includes likely deportation.

Most support for immigration I’ve seen has been in increase openings for legal immigration or increasing the acceptance of refugees.

But how am I supposed to feel better about myself when I see someone who can spend more money on my hobby than me?

I feel like “hallucination” was chosen as the word because of what it implies.

It doesn’t imply a bad algorithm, which makes the company look bad since hallucinations are out of a person’s control. It doesn’t imply using poor training data for the same reason.

But hallucination also masks the development of the model. A small kid might say something racist based on what they grew up with, but we would likely call that child immature. Same if an AI doesn’t fully understand a question or repeats a wrong answer that was given to it by someone as a laugh.

No one is fault. It was just a hallucination.
