So, question of if they’re safe or not will come down to HOW they did the reverse engineering. If the same engineers that delved into the jailbroken iOS devices are the ones that wrote the code (which seems likely given the prototype came from a single person), they’re going to be in trouble. This article had to be written as a PR piece. It lost me when it’s first point is the higher res screen. It has the same Z1 Extreme as the Ally, which struggles at 1080p on recent games. On my Ally, with full TDP max, can only really do 1080p 60 on games that are 5+ years old at medium/high settings. Higher resolution does not mean better if you still have to run at 720p/1080p for 60 fps.
