If you don’t know you don’t need to reply.
What’s the purpose of making fun of someone for asking a question to try to learn?
Yeah, it did get me to stop also a dual boot with Linux. I’m mostly Windows, so I’ve just used Linux in VMs.
What bugs has it made?
Guess Microsoft can buy me a new computer if they want me to use Windows 11.
As long as you remember before you turn off the computer!
Thanks.
Darn. I just eyeballed the difference. I’ll try actually screwing in just 1, but I’ll go in expecting the difference.
I used to love playing with dirt. Simpler times. Then they tricked me into getting an education and then a job.
My life has gotten better since I started doing everything perfect the first time with full knowledge.
If you don’t know, you aren’t required to comment.
And I bet you just want the right to decide which traffic laws to follow. Or which taxes to pay.
Go live on an isolated island if you don’t want to integrate with society.
I just want to visit a major theme park without getting measles. Or get an education without getting a once-defeated debilitating disease.
You shouldn’t force your diseases on people.
I do the same to people who refuse to follow specifications they agreed to follow.
There is a slight satisfaction to get back at them for continually delivering much lower quality than is required.
But it really is to cover me. Because, it always happens, later in the future that edge case comes up, and everything breaks. And management is ready to blame me. But then I show them that I tested the edge case before the conclusion of the project. And that programmer ignored my emails, and that I told management these edge cases weren’t covered. But then management signed off on calling it complete. And suddenly management is no longer red with fury. And they usually won’t allow me time to fix it. So the can gets kicked down the road until the next time that edge case fails.
It was not a hard choice.
In a society that valued preventative healthcare, people would get deep scans regularly when healthy, and an AI would take up the menial work of sifting through the large amount of extra data to detect issues early. Theoretically an AI would give the same amount of attention to the first scan of the day as the last scan of a 12 hour day.
Supposedly lots of models of G.I. Joe are up for doing rectal exams.
LLMs can’t design experiments or think of consequences or quality of life.
They also don’t “learn” from asking questions or from a 1-time input. They need to see hundreds or thousands of people die from something to recognize the pattern of something new.
