  • Journey is a beautiful game with excellent music and visuals. It’s coop where you can only make a ping noise and run around each other so no possibility of negative interactions. There’s a little challenge and adversity at times but the ending is phenomenal and joyous.

Sayonara wild hearts is a playable music album about a lady learning how to love herself. It’s got simple game mechanics but the mechanics all compliment the music and the music is so so good.

  • Sounds like you’re still working through depression to me. Be kind to yourself, give yourself time to heal and work through things, I’m glad you’ve found a therapist that’s a great step. Do you think you want to go back to the industry or could you be avoiding it subconsciously? Something that has helped me a lot is journaling, you can wipe down your goals and break them down into smaller goals if needed.

  • You can generally get a deal on the basic ps plus which gets you it for cheaper. They tend to be around Christmas and black Friday in the UK at least. That makes it about the price of one game per year for online which isn’t too bad for my budget. I do agree that it’s silly to play for access to our own internet but that’s what the consoles all do now so unless everyone switches to pc we are stuck with it. I also tend strongly towards patient gaming so the monthly games are often ones I’ve been waiting to come up for cheap. Little nightmares 2 this month was the only one I was interested in but we’ve recently had Tunic which was excellent.

  • My family had about 5 of these between us by the time we started getting into lites and 3d versions. I had the original chunky boy and a 3ds. We took them on holiday and played the brain training multiplayer games. Great fun, my parents even got into them for a bit and they said off video games a long time beforehand.

  • I think that’s maybe a bit harsh compared to a lot of the games mentioned here. Witcher 1 definitely has a lot of problems compared to 2 and 3 but it had a lot going for it as well. Sure the combat was broken as hell once you got all the spinning moves and it was super sexist with the women as trading cards thing. But the story and world building were still fun and Geralt was well characterised. It’s not a great game but it did well enough to get them the sequels. Definitely nowhere near the worst game I’ve played.

I love how many dicks have been drawn in historical artifacts by the people who built them. I remember reading about an engraving at the very top of an old column which the building was too unstable to get close enough to see for a long time. I think when they got up there and translated it it said something like “this is very high”. It’s nice to know people have always been people.
