I want something that’s basically like Windows 98.
Linux Mint (Cinnamon edition) and Kubuntu are, in my opinion, the two most windows-looking distros out of the box. They use the Cinnamon and KDE desktop environment respectively, you can do a little googling to see if those look like you expect your desktop to work.
Does everyone just always know what they’re doing at all times?
Fuck no, lol. I’ve done more stupid shit on Linux than windows would ever let me get away with. But Linux people tend to be a little more “tinkerers” than other computer users. Not everyone by any means, it’s really more of the other way around: if you want to tinker with your computer, Linux gives the most freedom to do so. And when you tinker enough and make enough mistakes learning experiences, you tend to pick up some knowledge along the journey.
But a lot of the modern distros are very plug-and-play, to where it’s not necessary to be a tinkerer to get going on Linux anymore.
Take solace in the fact that musk has little to do with the running of SpaceX anymore
“You guys are freaked out because I’m moving quickly and you don’t have visibility into my own internal process, that’s all.”
Uh, yeah?! Maybe add on “and you refuse to see why that’s a problem”
Yeah. It’s got all kinds of problems but at its core it “basically works” in a way that Salesforce hasn’t quite figured out, at least for a developer’s workflow.
Salesforce is (unsurprisingly) tailored towards sales teams, not necessarily dev teams. They’ve been branching out into more of a “full business solution” but the dev stuff isn’t really a strong competitor with the bigger names like Atlassian.
Slack (which, admittedly, was acquired by Salesforce) is probably the closest comparison to this.
As does Google chat. It’s been standard for years now.
Alaska, Canada, Russia, a few on the -stans.
This is the longest straight-line all-water route on earth.
I mean yeah, that’s funny, but I just like high quality pixel art and 2000 was the last generation before they ditched that (or I guess, the pixels got too small to see)
Toilets with threatening auras, you say?
(Bonus points: this bathroom was labeled “country” and the one next to it was labeled “western”)
“Tesla is a car company”
“Tesla is a tech company”
“Tesla is an AI company”
“Tesla is a restaurant company”
A device, no. A motherboard? Yup.
I mean, few things in life can be graded objectively so that’s not really the best standard to hold education to. There’s a lot of value in learning and practicing the skill of taking in information and then rearranging it into your own words, creating and supporting arguments from the knowledge you’ve gained.
But the subjectivity of it DOES mean that occasionally teachers will need to set aside their egos. Those who legitimately want to educate the next generation usually can do that, but some just enjoy having power over children and absolutely will not units forced to do so (and doing so will just create a new grudge against that student).
I once got a C- on an essay, but for extra credit we could submit that paper to a state essay contest. I was a state finalist in that contest, with my only revision from the class-submitted version being spell checking Britan->Britain.
Fuck you, Mrs Wickham.
Honestly don’t even remember, but it was in my peak “know enough to be dangerous” days in college. I almost certainly didn’t have to go that nuclear to fix it, but that’s what I did.
Take 2 of Arch, after that wipe was completed, went pretty well. It revived an old piece of shit laptop for another few years before its motherboard gave out.
My first attempt at running Arch, I managed to fuck it up so badly that I had to write a script to write zeros to every bit of my HDD. Fun times.
It’s not about the crops, farmers work by the sun, not by the clock.
It was able conserving candles and oil, for lighting rooms.
Hangers or a dresser for your clothes.
Don’t worry about the broom thing if this is a shared house, that’s really a “one per house” type of thing, no need for every tenant to have their own.
The desk/storage next to it is getting a little cluttered. Be careful of that, it’s a natural starting place for mess to creep out into the rest of the room.
You don’t feel like an adult because you’re 20. You barely are one, it’s okay. You’ll figure things out as you go.
