I think you meant @Fizz@lemmy.nz
I recommend listening to The Dollop episode about the New York Oysters. It’s crazy (as are most of their episodes!).
Thank you! God the official site is so bad.
I prefer just about every third-party UI to the official one…
Don’t forget Playlet for Roku!
Hey I just wanted to say, thank you for sending me down the rabbit hole of both of these texts. Fascinating!
Regarding the Voynich Manuscript, and to be fair to the person you’re responding to, with no current decipherment, there is a good possibility it’s a hoax.
Churchill acknowledges the possibility that the manuscript is either a synthetic forgotten language (as advanced by Friedman), or else a forgery, as the preeminent theory. However, he concludes that, if the manuscript is a genuine creation, mental illness or delusion seems to have affected the author.
Also the Codex Seraphinianus is much newer and self-admittedly describes an imaginary world in an imaginary language.
Anyway, thanks again for the Wikipedia adventure. :D
Is my client bugging or is this comment empty?
is anyone aware of how to properly link comments on lemmy?
As far as I know, there is no way right now. There’s some discussion of having a more agnostic identifier here, but seemingly no movement yet.

The best you can get right now is using an extension like Instance Assistant for Lemmy, but that only helps you, not the person you’re responding to.
That said, if you use a mobile app (I use Thunder) it will usually handle post/comment links in-app, so it doesn’t matter what instance they link to.
Not yet. They’re supposedly “working on it”. This is the feature I’m most looking forward to.
Whoa that’s cool! It works in Thunder!
AnyDesk has started enshitifying too but it’s still better than TeamViewer.
What? This just isn’t true? I RDP into work all time and it picks up my user session with all open apps from the last time I was physically at the machine. Then next time I’m at the machine, it picks up the session from last time I remoted in. In other words, as long as you always use the same account, it’s always the same session.
Your activity also can’t be viewed by a user on the remote system
You are right this, but this is actually a benefit in my opinion. The last thing I want is for someone to turn on my monitor and see everything I’m doing. I like that it’s a private session of sorts.
Also RDP is better at adapting resolutions (I want my session to use my local monitors’ resolution, not the remote one) and forwarding system key shortcuts than any other remote solution I’ve used.
Just a reminder that there are tons more options like this (and this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to movie piracy).
I’ve been really impressed by Dart as a programming language. I’ll admit I don’t have a breadth of knowledge, but coming from C# I feel right at home, and it has a few extra neat tricks that C# is picking up in return (like empty list syntax and the spread operator).
This is not a very helpful article summary.
Sorry it wasn’t meant to be. I just thought it was funny that they’re taking advantage of VideoLAN’s library (which is presumably open source) rather than their own.
Notice Linus doesn’t use tabs; he just thinks the parser shouldn’t die when it sees them.
I think most comments are missing the fact that you were using someone else’s Emby server and might not want to set up your own.
If that’s the case, you could look into a movie-web instance like https://sudo-flix.lol/. Check out the list of instances.
If you really want to be overwhelmed with options, take a look at the FMHY page.
catbox.moe is a very popular (especially on Lemmy) and reliable media hosting site. It happened to be down earlier today but it’s back up now.
