Acquisitions don’t need to pay for themselves. Ideally they do, but sometimes it’s enough if they just help the company’s main business stay in business, or grow.
IBM is making $30bn+ in gross profit each year.

It would be possible to argue about all of them, as each has genuine use cases. Just not to the extend they were praised during the hype.
I understand the decision, but for me it’s a problem. I want to play it, but after all those years I really long for more variety.
As a middle way they could make new industries optional. Or release them as recommended NewGRFs like they did with some of the graphics, audio and such in the past.
Do they still not add new industries to the base game? I played this game a lot - like A LOT. But the amount of base game industries are really sad to look at, and there’s not that many of expansions either. So you end up playing FIRS industries all the time.
A close relative of mine is working for a joint venture (between a medium sized European airline and LG) which tries to get into this market. Just had their first plane outfitted with their screens and software, and is now operational (sort of, they almost didn’t get approval).
In all seriousness it could be such a cool and interesting project. But general incompetency, finger pointing, internal power plays, and management neglect make it just as bad as you imagine already.
Social media fatigue is slowly getting traction. I don’t have an article or study at hand to back it up, but I read about it the other day. Especially in younger generations it’s a trend already.
Also, but that’s only my personal theorie, i think it’s a trend only among the less-hateful people. Hateful people nonstop spewing their vile messages everywhere is making “normal” people leave, which then turns off even more “normal” people.
The enraged slowly turning (unmoderated) social media into one big echo chamber.
Unfortunately it’s easier (say: cheaper) to make driving so expensive and hard that it makes public transport look like the carrot, than actually making public transport more attractive so it actually becomes the carrot.
What’s the questions-to-answers ratio to make it acceptable to write “CEO here” in a topic, in your opinion?
How much and what would he need to post so damage control would have been done (and successfull) in your eyes?
Just asking in case I become a CEO and see someone having a solvable issue with my company’s sercice.
I hear you. It’s amazing how much some company’s code / projects is allowed to suck.
Not even “my” tiny-little-side-module inside the project source recompiles within 20 seconds… because of absurdly complex and large dependencies to the actual project code.
If you’re thinking about rage quitting a job you don’t even have yet, maybe take a different career from the beginning?
What the hell.
Yes, that would be a Google killer. If you somehow find the money to provide it for free.
Finding a novel way of searching is one thing. Finding a novel way of financing the whole endeavor (and not going the exact route Google is) is another.
All kinds of IPO don’t live up to their expectations. Facebook went down hard back in the day, for example.
Except cheaters would flock to the tournament-legal game mode because there’s less cheaters. Why would they bother to try and win against other cheaters if there’s a better chance to win against easier opponents?
Cheaters cheat so they win easier. They don’t care about fairness.
Most likely the mic is simply powered by the voltage which also powers the headphones.
But there’s also mics which don’t need voltage to work at all (unlikely for headsets tho).
The 90s ended 23 years ago. And to not just live through but also “care” about MsS doings in the 90s someone needs to be even older.
Its really not that far fetched that a lot of younger people may see MS in a more positive way than you do apparently.
Spoofing the agent only makes it look like Firefox is being used less, and websites will care even less about it.
Seriously who downvotes a bot.
Nobody’s getting hurt by a small grammar correction. People may even learn from it and be better off.
Double edged sword, but yeah.
