Laika (the people behind Coraline) just today announced a new movie! The super quick teaser video they did looked BEAUTIFUL so I’m very excited!
There are movies to look forward too instead of just dred the advertising off?
I’m only joking cause I actually have a few movies but it’s looking pretty miserable still for cinema fans.
- The Wild Robot
- Wicked
- Megalopolis (because Coppola has been talking up this movie since digital effects were invented)
Of the new films currently listed for release this year by the Odeon:
- Joker: Folie à Deux
- Gladiator 2
However, they are also showing a tonne of older films which I hope to see (although my pass only allows 4 bookings at a time, so I may need to juggle a lot to free up space for other films as I’ll go an see most genre movies too):
- All 6 Spider-Man films - I’m 2 in, 4 to go
- 10 Star Wars movies in chronological order (minus Solo which is a pity)
- A mixed bag of Batman films
- Shaun of the Dead 20th Anniversary
- Pulp Fiction 30th Anniversary
- Gladiator
- Terminator 2
Any future Kalki 2898 A.D. sequel, Dune: Messiah, Alien: Romulus, Homestead, Thunderbolts*, Captain America: Brave New World, Am I Racist and Joker: Folie à Deux. I’m also somewhat looking forward to seeing A Real Pain although I’m not exactly excited for it necessarily.
When it comes to movies that are already out, I’m really looking forward to watching We’re All Going To The World’s Fair since I LOVED I Saw The TV Glow, as well as Scenes From A Marriage, Marriage Story, and Bamboozled.
Good to see you again, it feels like it has been a while!
Thanks man, it’s good to see you again too! I really should be more active over here. Maybe I’ll move some of my @Entertainment@narwhal.city posts over here!
Any future Kalki 2898 A.D. sequel
Yeah, it had a rough start but built up momentum after that. I was a bit disappointed to basically get “to be continued” and I hope it has done well enough to warrant a sequel. I believe it is the most expensive India film so far, which means it will have to have done really well.
Yeah, I found out later that beforehand they’d announced a Kalki Cinematic Universe so I bet over in India they know what to expect.
But I also really respect the Infinity War-esque ending to the film. It was a bold choice that I feel like will probably pay off with future installments.
OK, terrible memory, so I had to read a quick list and this is what I’m looking forward to so far.
-
Alien: Romulus — hopefully in the next few days! I’m hoping It’s not too gory, a full on horror, but I love the Alien franchise, so I can’t not see it.
-
The Crow — I know everyone says it’s sacrilegious, but I’m really interested to see what they’ve done.
-
Joker: Folie à Deux — Loved the first one, so this is a must-see.
-
Venom: The Last Dance — The trailer reveals too much, but I’m hoping it’s better than the first sequel.
-
Hellboy: The Crooked Man — Love Hellboy and what I’m hearing about this new version has me excited.
-
Transformers One — This looks like it could be pretty funny, the second trailer sold me in the first thirty seconds.

You could have just asked “What movies are you currently looking forward to?”
The way you asked it begs the question of whether any replies were even looking forward to that movie.
Anyway, Joker 2.
begs the question
You sure it’s beggaring a question?
Yes.
Updated
I was looking forward to the borderlands movie but from what I’m hearing it’s not worth it so I might just wait it out
It’s not worth it, wait it out.
I don’t go to theaters anymore (I have a weak immune system and get sick super easily, so it’s just not worth it) and haven’t pirated in a while, so I’m permanently behind schedule on watching movies these days. That said, I am most looking forward to Alien: Romulus followed by Deadpool & Wolverine.
The pandemic sure was great for me with movies getting released directly to streaming. How I miss it.
Also looking forward to Nosferatu someday.
Things coming soon:
- Nosferatu
- Nightbitch
- Memoir of a Snail
- FlowThings coming way later:
- Orbital Era (Katsuhiro Otomo!)
- The Goon
- Wildwood
- Untitled Coen Brothers Horror Project
