I think the best part was after my diagnosis and I told my parents (I was diagnosed as an adult @ 29) they went on a rant about how it wasn’t real and my teachers and doctors have been trying to shove pills down my throat since I was a kid. So I guess that was pretty eye opening into why I wasn’t diagnosed sooner.
Wow, same for me. I’ve heard many rants about how they just want to put me on pills. Of course, I didn’t get any help in non-medication related ways either
I remember 10 or 15 years ago reading a study about children watching TV and having ad breaks jump in for consecutive 30 second distractions (with exciting toys/products kids get a flood of dopamine seeing) being linked to a rise in it.
And then promptly get distracted by said random stuff and end up not finishing the job

Either overdiagnosed or it was severly underdiagnosed.
