Microsoft has revised its original plans to phase out the old PDF viewer in Microsoft Edge in favor of the Adobe-powered engine. Now, the company plans to kick out the old engine in early 2025.
On computers where you are can’t install other programs, and you are forced to use Windows, edge was actually a decent option for PDFs, probably better than free adobe.
This is going to suck for a lot of people in offices.

Yeah, this is the sole purpose of Edge on my computers - a PDF viewer. With that find I have zero use for it.
Key word: old
Looks like it will still be a pdf reader (basically the free tier of adobe), but the pre-2023 engine is removed.
Definitely. It’s actually quite good and one that I prefer over Adobe’s garbage.
