What can you get to within a 15-minute walk of your house?
A recent YouGov survey asked Americans what they think they should be able to get to within a 15-minute walk of their house.
Of these choices, I can currently walk to all of them from my apartment, aside from a university (no biggie, I’m not currently studying, although there is a Tafe within walking distance), a hospital, and a sports arena.

@ajsadauskas @fuck_cars I also don’t get A Bar being so low. The bar is exactly the place I WANT people to be walking to instead of driving. Perhaps this is just a limitation of the polling method; these responses are mostly just gut reactions, not carefully considered positions.
@fuck_cars @Fitz @ajsadauskas I think it’s probably an objection to pubs in neighbourhoods. The noise, drunk foot traffic, vomit on the footpaths.
I’ve got 5 pubs within 15 minutes!
@Jakra @fuck_cars @Fitz There was a “dry area” law that prevented licensed premises opening in a number of Melbourne’s inner-eastern suburbs (around Camberwell).
It was on the books from when teetotaling was all the rage a century ago (note Australia didn’t have US-style prohibition laws) until 2022.
