Well it’s certainly Halloween because seeing A&M in the banner (and ahead of my Longhorns) is a huge fright for me. But hey, we got two teams from the Lone Star state in the banner for once. Now we have to get three in there – Pony Up!
Also, bias aside, I’m really disappointed an OSU shot up eight whole spots for a lackluster performance against Nebraska. If anyone submits a human poll, I’d really like to know the reasoning why they deserve such a high ranking. Because I watched that game and Nebraska looked like the better team to me.
I kinda like it
At least your UT is still on the banner, we fell to the off week and now I’ve got to watch that other orange team from Appalachia get close to overtaking us…
Go Buckeyes 🤓
Notre Dame and Ohio State with the HUGE jumps up. That is the big shock here. I guess we just really value wins over Nebraska and Navy.
It looks like one of the ballots double voted Notre Dame (9 & 10), Kansas State (19 & 21), and SMU (18 & 24), giving them an extra 16, 5, and 2 points respectively (if you remove the lower ranked).
Oof, that’s not one we’ve had to account for (that I know of anyway). We’ve had people double up on joke ballots before but I’ve never even checked for this beyond some sum checks before (how we found the ulm “bug”). I think simply removing the bottom votes is indeed the right call, unless anyone has a better idea.
I once tried a plugin that would’ve prevented this, but it was a pain and it fucked with the spreadsheet or something and I didn’t have time for it. Maybe I’ll take another look…
