TL;DR (From Android Authority)
• Mozilla responded to a review mentioning the lack of tablet UI optimization for Firefox on Android.
• Mozilla confirmed that its team is not working on optimizing the tablet experience at the moment.
• Mozilla did, however, say that it hopes to revisit tablet optimization when time and resources permit.
There’s a tablet UI on the way. This is a simple case of someone not checking the new mockups
I’m not sure what needs optimizing. It’s fine on Pixel Tablet.
That’s disappointing, really.
The lack of even something like keyboard shortcuts just makes Firefox feel really really unfinished on tablets.
I maybe biased (typing from Fold 4), but this seems to be important to me, doing this makes Firefox seem like a laggard and behind the chromium world.
As a Pixel Fold owner, I agree. I switched to Firefox on desktop, but the bad unfolded interface prevents me from using it on mobile. Luckily I can use extensions with Kiwi, but I’d rather not use a Chromium browser.
Regardless, this is important.
This means that, for tablet users, the option is between Chromium on Android or WebKit on iOS, unless they’re using a Windows or Linux tablet.
Mozilla takes care of ai and you take care of the rest
I guess we have to wait until the AI bubble bursts to get any usable updates.
I use Firefox everyday on my Samsung tab and works fine
Wtf is this company’s focus even
Reports say AI.
I say dumb.
I don’t expect much of anything from Firefox mobile except slowness and bugs tbh. I still use it because of the add-on support but there’s tab bugs that have existed for three years
