AMD W. I love long term support.
Cool, but at the moment I am perfectly happy with my 5600X
I am an AM4 (5800X) as well and don’t see much reason for upgrading.
Although I am considering getting a 5800X3D before they stop selling it. It’s still pretty pricey where I live though.
Yeah, I suspect these CPUs will be used by people who needs a cheap CPU for old/used AM4 motherboards, AMD has been selling them for almost a decade at this point so it’s a cheap way to get a good computer.
I’m still using a 1700X and, although I probably ought to get a latest-generation-AM4 upgrade, apparently even the 5800X3D is “only” 47% faster? Not sure I can be bothered for anything that isn’t at least twice as fast.
3900x gang checking in, I have not found a justification to replace it yet because I don’t want to upgrade the board and memory.
Why upgrade if it works fine for you needs? :)
Zen 3 is the hit AMD keeps playing at every new album
The XT I guess I can understand, but I’m kinda surprised they bothered with the T.
Are there really that many 5600-class chips that meet the 5600T spec but not the 5600X spec? It would’ve thought that market (consumer) confusion over naming isn’t worth introducing SKUs that aren’t sufficiently different enough to existing products.
